Fire Sprinkler Apprentice - Road Local 669 - Vancouver
The Apprenticeship is a five-year program with on the job training in the field and some online and in-person schooling, which includes 19 Courses through a nationally recognized university. Most people begin the apprenticeship as a Class 1 (see pay scale below) but if you have experience in commercial construction, such as: plumbing, HVAC, or electrical, you may qualify to start the program at a higher class, that decision is made by the union once they review your qualifications during the interview/onboarding process.
Every six months your apprentice records are reviewed to make sure that there is satisfactory progress both on-the-job and in the related training courses. Satisfactory progress means advancement to the next classification and a wage increase until the Apprentice completes the five-year program.
As mentioned above, if you join Red Hawk Fire Protection with completed college courses, military background or with experience/background in another field, you may receive credits which would advance your class number and hourly wage which is determined by the union.
This position is eligible for full insurance benefits and a pension at no cost to you and your dependents. Go to “669 Sprinkler Fitter Hourly Pay Scale” for Apprentice through Journeyman rates.
