Fire Alarm Technician - Puyallup, WA
This position is in our Fire Alarm Service and Installation division. The candidate will work closely with the department manager in the installation of new fire alarm systems and testing/repair of existing Fire Alarm Systems. Red Hawk Fire Protection is seeking an employee with prior experience that has their Washington State Licensed EL06, NICET I, II, III, or IV fire alarm certification, and Seattle FA-01 card. Applicant should also be knowledgeable in NFPA standards, life safety, and electrical codes and standards.
Areas of Responsibilities:
- Perform the installation and upgrades of fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings. Including pulling of cable, some conduit installation, rough-in and trim work.
- Ensure installations are installed according to code and life safety standards.
- Conduct annual fire alarm inspections and testing, including the completion of detailed inspection reports; documenting any deficiencies with the systems.
- Troubleshoot, service, program, and maintain fire alarm systems for customers.
- Respond to emergency service calls.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace, including the company-provided vehicle.
Things To Know Before Starting
Requirements:
- NICET Certified (Level I, II, III or IV)
- Experience in the fire alarm/life safety industry working on commercial and residential systems.
- Experience with the ability to troubleshoot fire alarm troubles, and trace and repair ground faults.
- Knowledgeable on NFPA 72 and NEC 70 regulations and codes.
- Ability to work on ladders and lift to 50 lbs.
- High School Diploma or GED certificate
Preferred Skills or Certifications:
- Seattle FA-01 License (Preferred)
- Manufacturer Certifications in Fire Alarm Systems. (Silent Knight, Gamewell, etc.)
- Experience or familiarity with water-based fire sprinkler systems)
Salary Range:
$35.00 to $45.00 per hour. Depends on experience and credentials.
